The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will conduct a boating safety class beginning at 9:15 a.m., Saturday, Ag. 9, at the Jane O'Brien Chatelain West Bank Regional Library, 2751 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey.

Held the second Saturday of each month, the Saturday Morning Writer's Clinic consists of two sessions - one at 9:30 a.m. and one at 11 a.m. - which feature an author who speaks on some aspect of writing - plot, dialog, chracterization, etc.

Introduction to sitting and walking Zen meditation. Please bring a cushion to sit on.

Love to play Mahjong but don't have a Mahjong set?  Grab a few friends and drop by the library and play awhile. We have Mahjong sets available for use in the library.    No instruction will be offered.

The Jigsaw Puzzle Extravaganza, hosted by the East Bank Regional Library, will occur from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie. 

The River Ridge Poets group meets at River Ridge Library on the second Saturday of each month to discuss poetry.
