Hibiscus are renowned for their large, showy flowers and those species are commonly known simply as "hibiscus", or less widely known as rose mallow. Members of the New Orleans Hibiscus Society gather (almost) monthly.

The Science Book Club meets monthly in the A/V Conference room at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

This month, the group will discuss "The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs" by Steve Brusatte.
