Open sewing time with the Jefferson Parish sewing group. This meeting is not instructional, but questions are always welcome. 

Come garden with your neighbors and librarians as we work on our very first Community Garden! Learn what to grow and how to tend a vegetable and flower garden during this informal work hour. Open to all ages and experience levels. 

Gretna Book Club – The members of the book club have moved the event to 1:30 p.m. on the third Friday of each month. The following books will be read and discussed.

Introduction to sitting and walking Zen meditation. Please bring a cushion to sit on.

Monday Knitters meets from 1 to 3 p.m. each Monday. Bev Madere, Craft Yarn Council of America Master Knitter, facilitates this group of adult knitters. All level of skills welcomed; basic knitting skills taught to beginners.

First Hour taught in Spanish; Second Hour taught in English.

Welcome to Wicked Fest: Interactive Movie Experience! Get ready for a thrilling night at Jefferson Parish Library - Lakeshore Library on October 21, 2025 at 5:30 PM (Central Time).

Join us and the Clear Head Adult Day Care for a craft or art project each week! Caretaker must be present. 

This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Your local librarians are working on their fitness. Come join! We will be working out together using our collection of Zumba, Pilates, and Dance Cardio DVDs. All ages welcome!

Join us for Chess Club! We welcome amateurs, novices, and dabblers of chess, who would like to play in a semi-competitive and/or social environment. No registration is required. Instruction will be available on occasions.
