This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Adult Literacy – YMCA Literary Services will hold adult literacy classes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Belle Terre Library, 5550 Belle Terre Road.

The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers a general literacy from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week, except on holidays.

Come out and learn about health and nutrition topics. 

This class will cover the basics of short story writing, memoir writing and creative non-fiction writing. It will be taught and mentored by local writer and educator, Maria Baisier. Everyone has a story. What is yours? 

This event is a casual crocheting group for adults. Come work on your crochet projects and enjoy a cup of our Library Blend coffee while you crochet and socialize with other fiber artists.

This Microsoft Word Class is aimed at helping adults acquire the technology skills they desire in a low-pressure setting. This class takes what you learned in Part 1 and digs a little deeper.

The approach to researching records of enlisted men and women, officers, and for the different branches of the military is complex and individual records might need to be requested from archives.

New projects every month. Or you can ignore the projects and just watch a movie that we put on the big screen. Or you can ignore both and just talk with your friends. We don't mind.

Free tax help at the West Bank Regional Library.  The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in partnership with Community Housing Education Center offers free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals.

In a world where no one speaks, a devout female hunts down a young woman who has escaped her imprisonment. Recaptured by its ruthless leaders, Azrael is due to be sacrificed to pacify an ancient evil deep within the surrounding wilderness.

Join a group of up to six players for a Lancer campaign led by Game Master Patrick Hitchcock.  The campaign will meet one Wednesday evening a month.  There is no cost, and all materials will be provided.

The New Neighbor Project will offer a series of in-person English as a Second Language classes. English as a second or foreign language is a language education program for people learning English.

Karen Essex, an award-winning novelist, journalist and screenwriter, will discuss her novel Run, Darling at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

Local representatives from the American Association of Retired Persons help individuals with their taxes from Feb. 2 to April 14. Free of charge and open to the public.
