Fred Mulhearn, a cartoonist who lives in Denham Springs, will discuss his new book, More Life in Looziana, Cartoons and Commentary, at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W.

Local representatives from the American Association of Retired Persons help individuals with their taxes from Feb. 2 to April 14. Free of charge and open to the public. Appointments are required by going to aarpfoundation.org/taxes.

The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers an intermediate English as a Second Language class.

The “Read and Sing Storytime” includes stories, songs, and finger plays for infants and toddlers. 

Join us for books, songs, and dancing!  We start with stories and songs and end with an activity. This event is for toddlers and young children ages 0-7.

Read & Sing is a storytime featuring books and songs aimed at babies and toddler ages 0-3. Come read with us at West Bank Regional Library every Wednesday beginning at 11am. Playtime with library toys to follow. 

This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Adult Literacy – YMCA Literary Services will hold adult literacy classes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Belle Terre Library, 5550 Belle Terre Road.

The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers a general literacy from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week, except on holidays.

Come and do some gentle exercises at Rosedale Library.  Go at your own pace and get in shape. 1pm-2pm.

This six week class will cover the basics of memoir writing, focusing on participants’ lived experiences.

Adults interested in poetry, music, and writing are invited to share and discuss poems and songs by either their favorite artists or their own original creative work in a group setting.

This event is a casual crocheting group for adults. Come work on your crochet projects and enjoy a cup of our Library Blend coffee while you crochet and socialize with other fiber artists.

Tea will be served at 2:00 PM with discussion to follow at 2:30 PM. I hope you will be able to join us. Please bring your own mug!

This class covers setting up an email account (using Gmail) and the basics of composing, sending and receiving emails. We also discuss uploading and sending an attachment.

New projects every month. Or you can ignore the projects and just watch a movie that we put on the big screen. Or you can ignore both and just talk with your friends. We don't mind. 

Sheila Cao, a personal finances consultant based in New Orleans, will give a series of presentations on financial management at 4 p.m. on Wednesdays in February 2026, at the Wagner Library, 6646 Riverside Drive, Metairie.
