The New Neighbor Project will offer a series of in-person English as a Second Language classes. English as a second or foreign language is a language education program for people learning English.

This meeting will cover: Poem: "The Poet," by Bob Kaufman (1958?)

Gretna resident and genealogist John Cooper will talk about the Canary Island people who settled on the Westbank.

The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers an intermediate English as a Second Language class.

This event includes stories and activities for children newborn to 5 years old.

This PowerPoint Class is aimed at helping adults acquire the technology skills they desire in a low-pressure setting. This class explores the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint 2016.

Read & Sing: Early Literacy Fun (Ages 0–3)

Come try your skill, invent, and experiment in our new Lego Club targeted for ages 5 to 10. LEGOs will be provided for you so you don’t need to bring LEGOs from home. Younger siblings are welcome. Larger Legos provided for younger siblings.

Join us for books, songs, and play! Our program starts with stories and songs before our weekly activity. Followed by playtime! 

Tales for Tots is a storytime featuring books and songs aimed at babies and toddler ages 0-3. Come read with us at West Bank Regional Library every Wednesday beginning at 11am. Playtime with library toys to follow. 

This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Adult Literacy – YMCA Literary Services will hold adult literacy classes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Belle Terre Library, 5550 Belle Terre Road.

Come learn how to line dance! Whether you're a beginner or you've been dancing for awhile, our line dancing classes are for everyone. Wear anything that is comfortable to dance in!

This class will cover the basics of short story writing, memoir writing and creative non-fiction writing. It will be taught and mentored by local writer and educator, Maria Baisier. Everyone has a story. What is yours?
