Join us for arts and crafts at the library! First come, first served. 

In this class you will learn basic watercolor skills and complete a painting in an hour and a half. Step by step instructions will be given. Art supplies are provided or bring your own supplies. Registration is required.

Come and have fun! Learn to play chess, a game that is played all over the world and that dates back more than a thousand years to Ancient India.  Learn the basic moves and strategies! No knowledge of chess is needed.

Listen to a story read by one of our librarians and stay to do a fun craft together! This event is for children ages 3 to 10 years old. 

Presented by the Visiting Pet Program, beginner or reluctant readers read aloud to animal assisted therapy dogs.

Do you like card games? Well come join us in our Trading Card Game Day! Come hangout and play Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh and more! Make new friends while you have fun playing your favorite TCG!

Come try your skill, invent, and experiment in our new Lego Club targeted for ages 5 to 10. LEGOs will be provided for you so you don’t need to bring LEGOs from home. Lego Club first comes, first serve, while supplies last.

The group meets at 1 p.m. to discuss "The Fear Factor: How One Emotion Connects Altruists, Psychopaths, and Everyone In-Between", by Abigail Marsh. 

The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers an intermediate English as a Second Language class.

Join us for Creative Connections, a welcoming and inclusive program designed for adults with developmental disabilities. Each session features engaging activities that encourage creativity, social interaction, and lifelong learning.

Join us for Songs, play, dance and stories for the littlest ones (0-2years). Every Monday 10:30am-11:30am

Adult Literacy – YMCA Literary Services will hold adult literacy classes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Belle Terre Library, 5550 Belle Terre Road.

Monday Knitters meets from 1 to 3 p.m. each Monday. Bev Madere, Craft Yarn Council of America Master Knitter, facilitates this group of adult knitters. All level of skills welcomed; basic knitting skills taught to beginners.

Welcome back to our Community Homeschool Hour! No reservation required. Classes are geared toward ages 6 and up but our younger friends are welcome to join as well. Class is open until materials run out. 

We are a small group of crafters dedicated to spreading warmth and creativity through handmade creations. Come join us to work on projects, brainstorm, share tips and tricks, and socialize! Open to the public! No registration required.
