This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Adult Literacy – YMCA Literary Services will hold adult literacy classes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Belle Terre Library, 5550 Belle Terre Road.

This Intro to Ballet class is for our youngest learners, ideally 3-5. Must be accompanied by a parent. Ballet slippers will be provided. Just wear comfy clothes and socks and get ready to twirl!

Brad Richard, a New Orleans poet and author of a new book titled Turned Earth, will host an evening of poets reading their work at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

The World War II Discussion Group, headed by local teacher and historian Brian Altobello, meets the first Thursday of every month. Speakers focus on the events of the 1930s and 1940s. Free and open to the public; registration is not required.
