Stories and activities for children ages 0-7 years old.  Join us for books, songs, and dancing! We start with stories and songs and end with a craft activity. This event is for toddlers and young children.  

Join us for arts and crafts at the library! First come, first served. Entry into craft closes at 10:15 a.m.

Come and have fun! Learn to play chess, a game that is played all over the world and that dates back more than a thousand years to Ancient India.  Learn the basic moves and strategies! No knowledge of chess is needed.

Join us for Lego Club at the library! Take the challenge and make a cool creation to be displayed in the library until the next meeting! Lego Club meets every other Saturday. This event is for children ages 4 years old and up.

This event includes stories for children ages 3 to 7 years old.

West Bank Regional Library's Storytime takes place every Tuesday at 11am, with a themed craft to follow. Recommended for children ages 3-5. Each week features a themed selection of books, songs, fingerplays, and more! 

Join us on Thursdays @ 11 AM for Tai Chi & Chai Tea. After the session, relaxation and meditation continues with the sound therapy of Tibetan singing bowls.

Come garden alongside the Golden Gardeners as we work on our very first Community Garden! Learn what to grow and how to tend a vegetable and flower garden during this informal work hour. Open to all ages and experience levels. 

Calling all homeschool families! Each session will include a lesson, an advanced experiment for the kids 7 and up, a storytime and craft for kids 6 and younger, and a separate space for parents to collaborate and share resources.

Listen to a story read by one of our librarians and stay to do a fun craft together! This event is for children ages 3 to 10 years old.

If you have always wanted to try painting, this is your chance! Our artist in residence will be teaching free classes, two Thursdays a month, focusing on different techniques and guiding you as you create your own artwork to take home.

This series will guide students through the process of creating their very own sculpture. Subjects for the sculpture will be Louisianan wildlife of their choosing, and we will learn about the subjects from local wildlife experts!

Hands-on activities for homeschoolers! For ages 5 & up, younger siblings are welcome. This month, we'll make dino eggs, fruit pizza on a cookie, and more! 

Let your little ones practice basic mixing, measuring, and motor skills while doing learning to make an easy snack and becoming familiar with preparing food!

This is a story time for children who are aged 5-7 years old. 1st and 2nd grade level children will visit us from Grand Isle School and the public who have children in this age group are invited to participate.

Join us for Family Board Games at the library! Ages 5+; Parental supervision required. Please call the Children’s Desk at (504) 364-3664 ahead for the latest information. Bringing a large group (10 or more children and adults)?

Bring cuttings or full plants (1 or a few) and swap with other home gardeners. Indoor and outdoor plants are welcome!

Our Dreams Are Reality series continues this week with learning to cartoon. Flipsticks for our craft, storyboarding, plus other cartooning techniques.

We’re excited to host Project Power in our community for children aged 6–11! This no cost interactive program raises type 2 diabetes awareness, provides diabetes risk reduction education, and encourages participation from the whole family!

Join our new Kids Chess Club for ages 7-12! This fun, non-competitive program is perfect for beginners or those who already know the basics.
