Ahmad Hallak, MD, a cardiologist with the Ochsner Health system, will discuss Keeping Your Heart Healthy” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie. This event is free of charge and open to the public.
Dr. Hallak will focus on the latest information regarding key heart healthy strategies, including dietary choices, physical activity, lifestyle changes such as smoking, weight management, stress management, sleep quality, and monitoring health metrics such as blood pressure and cholesterol levels. He will also discuss heart-healthy foods to prioritize.
Ahmad Hallak, MD, is a cardiologist based in Metairie, LA. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Texas Tech University in 2021 where he served as a chief resident and is completing his last 2 months of cardiology fellowship at Ochsner. He will be completing his training in Interventional Cardiology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Hallak has authored several publications, including articles on exercise therapy for managing peripheral arterial disease and a book chapter with reports on unique medical cases, such as limb salvage in chronic limb-threatening ischemia. His work has been published in various journals, including Mayo Clinic Proceedings and Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases and Innovative Techniques.
