"The Augmented Librarian: Leveraging AI as a Partner in Service" discusses how artificial intelligence can serve as a powerful co-pilot in library operations rather than a replacement for human expertise. I will cover immediate applications for library staff, ranging from streamlining administrative writing and performing complex data analysis to enhancing accessibility services. Staff will gain basic skills in prompt engineering and output verification. The session will address essential ethical considerations regarding bias and privacy and provide policy considerations. The main goal is to equip attendees with the skills and confidence to lead AI literacy initiatives within their communities.
