Program Description

Event Details

Learn the craft of visible mending with patching and Sashiko! In this hands-on workshop, you'll discover how to fix and decorate your clothes using colorful, expressive stitches and creative patches inspired by traditional Japanese textile techniques. We’ll show you how to prepare your clothing, attach patches underneath or on top, and use simple Sashiko embroidery to transform tears or worn spots into beautiful design details. All skill levels are welcome, and materials will be provided. Bring in woven (i.e., not knit) items that need fixing or use our practice fabric. By the end, you'll have learned new skills and a repaired garment ready to be worn many more times!

Spots are limited, so sign up now and get ready to fix it and flaunt it!
