Make Your Own Instruments — A Library Makerspace Program
Get ready to explore sound, creativity, and hands-on making! Join the Library Makerspace for Make Your Own Instruments, a fun and educational program where you’ll design and build simple musical instruments from everyday materials.
This session will guide you through creating three unique instruments:
🎵 A Membranophone — explore vibration with this kazoo-like creation.
🎵 A Straw Pan Flute — discover pitch and airflow as you craft your own wind instrument.
🎵 A Thumb Piano (Kalimba) — learn about melody and resonance while assembling this charming plucked instrument.
All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is needed — just bring your curiosity and imagination! Whether you're a budding musician, a tinkerer, or simply love trying new things, this program offers a playful introduction to both music and maker skills.
Recommended for ages 10 and up. Registration required.
