Mah-jong is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. It is played by four players.

This event includes stories and crafts for school aged children (ages 6 to 11 years old.) 

Book: Commotion in the Ocean by Andreae Giles 

Craft:  Fish in Waves paper craft

Come garden with your neighbors and librarians as we work on our very first Community Garden! Learn what to grow and how to tend a vegetable and flower garden during this informal work hour. Open to all ages and experience levels. 

Join us for Chess Club! We welcome amateurs, novices, and dabblers of chess, who would like to play in a semi-competitive and/or social environment. No registration is required. We have chess sets and clocks available on a first-come basis.

The Jefferson Parish Library is hosting its third Cars & Coffee event! Bring your cool car or motorcycle and hang out with other enthusiasts while enjoying some of our exclusive Library Blend Coffee!

The purpose of the group is to encourage local writers to create works of fiction - novels, novellas, short stories, flash fiction, etc. Writers submit manuscripts to be critiqued by other group members.
