This PowerPoint Class is aimed at helping adults acquire the technology skills they desire in a low-pressure setting. This class explores the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint 2016.

This Spanish classes is geared toward younger learners but open to all ages. There will be portions of each lesson for different age ranges to accommodate as many levels of learners as we can. 

Do you take care of a loved one and wish you had a safe place to socialize with others?

This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Adult Literacy – YMCA Literary Services will hold adult literacy classes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Belle Terre Library, 5550 Belle Terre Road.

This Intro to Ballet class is for our youngest learners, ideally 3-5. Must be accompanied by a parent. Ballet slippers will be provided. Just wear comfy clothes and socks and get ready to twirl!

Northstar Digital Learning is aimed at helping adults acquire the technology skills they desire in a low-pressure setting. This class takes what you learned in Part 1 and digs a little deeper.

Mah-jong is a tile-based game that was developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world since the early 20th century. It is played by four players.

This event includes stories and crafts for school aged children (ages 6 to 11 years old.)

This beginner ballet class is open to ages 7-12 (but if your kid falls outside this age range and you still think this is the right class for them, come anyway!). Wear comfortable clothes and socks. 

Learn the fundamentals of classical ballet in a relaxed but informative environment. We are here to take ballet seriously but not always take ourselves seriously. Get a workout in and learn something new in a comfortable, friendly environment.

Looking for a fun, chill spot to hang out? Join us at the library for our Teen Café! Watch your favorite anime, play video and board games, get creative with crafts, and vibe with friends or meet new ones.

Join us for evening storytime, followed by a craft! Targeted for ages 3-7. 

Peggy Sweeney-McDonald will discuss her new book Grief, Caregiving and Pink Cloud Moments at 7 p.m., Thursday, May 28, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

Adult Basic Education Class
Build your reading, writing, and math skills for workforce success and high school equivalency (HiSET/GED) preparation. Open to adults of all skill levels.

Come garden with your neighbors and librarians as we work on our very first Community Garden! Learn what to grow and how to tend a vegetable and flower garden during this informal work hour. Open to all ages and experience levels. 

Join us for Chess Club! We welcome amateurs, novices, and dabblers of chess, who would like to play in a semi-competitive and/or social environment. No registration is required. We have chess sets and clocks available on a first-come basis.

Kick off Summer Reading with a hands-on adventure for the whole family! Explore a dinosaur dig site, solve mysteries in our discovery lab, and plant something to grow all summer long.

The purpose of the group is to encourage local writers to create works of fiction - novels, novellas, short stories, flash fiction, etc. Writers submit manuscripts to be critiqued by other group members.
