Join us and the Clear Head Adult Day Care for a craft or art project each week! Caretaker must be present. 

This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

This event includes stories and art activities for children ages 3 to 9 years old. Supplies are limited. 

Come to the library after school to play some Nintendo Switch games with your friends. Snacks are available for the price of checking out a book!

The Old Metairie Library’s SciFi and Fantasy Discussion Group has announced its programming for 2025. The group meets at 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays, at the Old Metairie Library, 2350 Metairie Road.

Come garden with your neighbors and librarians as we work on our very first Community Garden! Learn what to grow and how to tend a vegetable and flower garden during this informal work hour. Open to all ages and experience levels. 

Join us for Chess Club! We welcome amateurs, novices, and dabblers of chess, who would like to play in a semi-competitive and/or social environment. No registration is required. Instruction will be available on occasions.

If you are interested in learning the game of Mahjong, but are intimidated by the fast pace of traditional Mahjong clubs, then come join us for a relaxed learning experience.

Come and have fun! Learn to play chess, a game that is played all over the world and that dates back more than a thousand years to Ancient India.  Learn the basic moves and strategies! No knowledge of chess is needed.
