The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers an intermediate English as a Second Language class.

Join us for books, songs, and play! Our program starts with stories and songs before our weekly activity. This event is for toddlers and preschool children.

The East Jefferson Italian American Society meets on the first Monday of each month to discuss activities in the area of interest to its members. It hosts events such as book signing, author talks, history lectures, cooking demos and others.

Joshua M. Groetsch, MD, a New Orleans area ophthalmologist, will discuss common ocular conditions that can develop over time, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and floaters, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan.

Playtime at the library! Informal play and social time for children 0-5 years. Toys will be provided.

A social group and open time for fiber arts enthusiasts. Come visit and sew, knit, crochet, embroider, or work on any other craft in our Jefferson Room. (EBR Makerspace program)

Cyril Lagvanec, PhD, the curator of the American-Italian Research Library located on the second floor of the East Bank Regional Library, will give a lecture titled “The War Within a War” at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan.

Join us for Chess Club! We welcome amateurs, novices, and dabblers of chess, who would like to play in a semi-competitive and/or social environment. No registration is required. We have chess sets and clocks available on a first-come basis.

Play and explore at our sensory stations! We will have activities like playdoh, sensory sand and more. For all abilities, ages 3 & up. Bring whatever supports you may need, and dress for a mess.
