Program Description

Event Details

Is "Holes" by Louis Sachar required reading over the summer? Would you like to earn 7 AR points on the first day of the school year? Does listening to a story over a nice cup of hot chocolate sound nice? Then join us every week for a calm reading time!

Each session will meet in Study Room K. Please ask the librarians at the Children's Desk for directions. Adults will not be required to stay for the reading, but they are required to stay in the library, and strongly requested to tell their child where they will be. The reading will begin ten minutes after our start time, so we can refresh our memories and make our drinks. Study guides will be provided for each session, which we will fill in at the end of each chapter.

Our last session will be an extended 2 hours, so that we can watch the movie. Depending on availability, this may be in the meeting room.

This program is intended for children ages 8+ for AR purposes. Children are expected to follow the library's rules of conduct.

Large group (10 or more children) or daycare? Contact a Children's Librarian in advance to discuss space allowances at 504-364-3664.
