Not long after the first commercial steamboat found its way from Pittsburgh to New Orleans in 1812, the popularity of steamboat travel up and down the Mississippi soon became an easy and affordable means of travel.

Do you have old family films, VHS tapes, cassettes, vinyl records, or CDs that you would like to digitize? Preserve these analog items at the Memory Lab!

This event includes stories for children ages 0 to 5 years old. This event is held in the Children's area of Rosedale Library on Fridays at 10:30am.

Adult Basic Education Class
Build your reading, writing, and math skills for workforce success and high school equivalency (HiSET/GED) preparation. Open to adults of all skill levels.

Come garden with your neighbors and librarians as we work on our very first Community Garden! Learn what to grow and how to tend a vegetable and flower garden during this informal work hour. Open to all ages and experience levels. 

Gretna Book Club – The members of the book club meet from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. on the third Friday of each month (except for this May and June). The following books will be read and discussed.

Join us for Chess Club! We welcome amateurs, novices, and dabblers of chess, who would like to play in a semi-competitive and/or social environment. No registration is required. We have chess sets and clocks available on a first-come basis.

Come and have fun! Learn to play chess, a game that is played all over the world and that dates back more than a thousand years to Ancient India.  Learn the basic moves and strategies! No knowledge of chess is needed.

Join us for books, songs, and play! This event is for toddlers and preschool children.

Listen to a story read by one of our librarians and stay to do a fun craft together! This event is for children ages 3 to 10 years old. 

This event includes stories for children ages 3 to 7 years old.

Join us for Lego Club at the library! Come and build with us! Meets on Saturdays. Ages 4+; Parental supervision required.

Take a spring day and make some joyful noise! With paint, clay, string, and some time, you will build a beautiful set of wind chimes to bring some lovely spring sounds to your home.

Come try your skill, invent, and experiment in our new Lego Club targeted for ages 5 to 10. LEGOs will be provided for you so you don’t need to bring LEGOs from home. Lego Club first comes, first serve, while supplies last.
