Week Calendar

An informal group for all levels of crocheters. We are primarily a crochet group, but knitters are welcome.

Join us and the Clear Head Adult Day Care for a craft or art project each week! Caretaker must be present. 

Bring a project you're working on, sewing, quilting, embroidery, crochet, or any type of creative needlework, and socialize with others with similar interests.

Come try your skill, invent, and experiment in our Lego Club targeted for ages 5 to 10! Legos provided for you so you do not need to bring Legos from home. Younger siblings are welcome. Larger Legos provided for younger siblings.

A new class every week as well as space to work on your own projects. Working on a beading or jewelry project? Crocheting or knitting something cool?

Calling all homeschool families! Each session will include a lesson, an advanced experiment for the kids 7 and up, a storytime and craft for kids 6 and younger, and a separate space for parents to collaborate and share resources.

Monday Knitters meets from 1 to 3 p.m. each Monday. Bev Madere, Craft Yarn Council of America Master Knitter, facilitates this group of adult knitters. All level of skills welcomed; basic knitting skills taught to beginners.

Come join a professional artist at River Ridge Library to learn how to draw still lifes in color. Topics will include: color theory, use of charcoal and pastel, duotone drawing, layering color, texture and blending.

Hands-on activities for homeschoolers! For ages 5 & up, younger siblings are welcome. This month, we’ll learn about the skeletal system, do an art activity, and learn about the library! Registration requested.

This is a story time for children who are 5-7 years old. 1st and 2nd grade level children will visit us from Grand Isle School and the public who have children in this age group are invited to participate.

Missed Lego Club? Don’t worry! Today is all about letting your imagination soar and building whatever you’d like! Please call the Children’s Desk at (504) 364-3664 ahead for the latest information.

Teens ages 13-18, come join us for a crochet and knitting club! This is a space to work on your projects, meet new friends, and get feedback from fellow crafters. Bring your own supplies, or use our limited in-library materials.

Let your worst creative instincts take over at our Ugly Art Afternoon! All art supplies provided. What can you regret making? 

This event includes stories and art activities for children ages 3 to 9 years old. Supplies are limited.
