This class will cover the basics of short story writing, memoir writing and creative non-fiction writing. It will be taught and mentored by local writer and educator, Maria Baisier. Everyone has a story. What is yours? 

This event is a casual crocheting group for adults. Come work on your crochet projects and enjoy a cup of our Library Blend coffee while you crochet and socialize with other fiber artists.

FamilySearch.Org is the largest free genealogy database and is focused on volunteers and contributions. It bases the creation of a family tree on working together to add to and create a worldwide family tree.

This event includes stories and art activities for children ages 3 to 9 years old. Supplies are limited. 

Come hang out and craft! Each month we will provide materials and instructions for a new craft activity. 

New projects every month. Or you can ignore the projects and just watch a movie that we put on the big screen. Or you can ignore both and just talk with your friends. We don't mind. 

Free tax help at the West Bank Regional Library.  The IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program in partnership with Community Housing Education Center offers free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals.

Join us at Westwego to hone your artistic skills by painting a still life scene with water colors. 

All art supplies will be provided, but these supplies are limited.

Come play Hong Kong Mahjong at River Ridge Library! Free and open to the public. Beginners are welcome.

Come bring your little movers and shakers to the library (ages 2-5) for an interactive storytime with music, fingerplays, and coloring!

Preschool storytime will be held every second Thursday and fourth Tuesday of the month.

This Spanish classes is geared toward younger learners but open to all ages. There will be portions of each lesson for different age ranges to accommodate as many levels of learners as we can. 

Playtime at the library! Informal play and social time for children 0-5 years. Toys will be provided.

This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Adult Literacy – YMCA Literary Services will hold adult literacy classes from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Belle Terre Library, 5550 Belle Terre Road.

This Intro to Ballet class is for our youngest learners, ideally 3-5. Must be accompanied by a parent. Ballet slippers will be provided. Just wear comfy clothes and socks and get ready to twirl!

The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers a general literacy from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week, except on holidays.
