The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers a general literacy from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week, except on holidays.

This six week class will cover the basics of memoir writing, focusing on participants’ lived experiences.

This event is a casual crocheting group for adults. Come work on your crochet projects and enjoy a cup of our Library Blend coffee while you crochet and socialize with other fiber artists.

Vital records most commonly refer to records such as birth and death certificates, marriage licenses are essential documents that can be used to link each generation to the next. This lecture focuses on finding United States vital records.

This event includes stories and art activities for children ages 3 to 9 years old. Supplies are limited. 

New projects every month. Or you can ignore the projects and just watch a movie that we put on the big screen. Or you can ignore both and just talk with your friends. We don't mind. 

Sheila Cao, a personal finances consultant based in New Orleans, will give a series of presentations on financial management at 4 p.m. on three Wednesdays in February 2026, at the Wagner Library, 6646 Riverside Drive, Metairie.

This event is for players, experienced and new, to join adventures across different continents, fighting different villains, saving town’s people and slaying some dragons!

The Old Metairie Library’s SciFi and Fantasy Discussion Group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of each month, except for holidays, at the Old Metairie Library, 2350 Metairie Road.

Play's parents are out of town, and he's planning the house party to end all house parties. His best friend, Kid, wants to go more than anything, knowing Sydney (Tisha Campbell-Martin), the hottest girl in school, is sure to be there.

Local representatives from the American Association of Retired Persons help individuals with their taxes from Feb. 2 to April 14. Free of charge and open to the public. Appointments are required by going to aarpfoundation.org/taxes.

Book: Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh

This Microsoft Word Class is aimed at helping adults acquire the technology skills they desire in a low-pressure setting. Learners will open a new document. Identify the parts of the Word window, including the Ribbon and Quick Access Toolbar.

This Spanish classes is geared toward younger learners but open to all ages. There will be portions of each lesson for different age ranges to accommodate as many levels of learners as we can. 

Playtime at the library! Informal play and social time for children 0-5 years. Toys will be provided.

Do you take care of a loved one and wish you had a safe place to socialize with others?

This gentle yoga class is given by Registered Yoga Teacher Peter Spera every Wednesday & Thursday at the Gretna Library. Spera has 20 years of experience in yoga. Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.
