The New Neighbor Project will offer a series of in-person English as a Second Language classes. English as a second or foreign language is a language education program for people learning English.

Ed Branley, a former high school history teacher and self-described history fanatic, will discuss the Royal Blue Line, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

Two food/cocktail demonstrations at the Jefferson Parish Library – one on each bank of the river – will occur during the month of August.

The LSU Master Gardeners' meeting always features speakers who provide tips and techniques about gardening in the Deep South. The group is especially focused on native plants.
