The New Neighbor Project offers Citizenship Class on Tuesdays at the Rosedale Library, 4036 Jefferson Highway, Jefferson. The classes are free and are geared to prepare eligible permanent residents for the United States naturalization process.

The Jefferson Parish Library, in conjunction with YMCA New Orleans, offers an English as a Second Language class.

Author and food writer Elizabeth Williams will demonstrate several tapas dishes, including a tomato bruschetta and a hummus. She will also prepare a yogurt dip for vegetables or chips

Four local romance/paranormal writers – Dawn Chartier, Alys Arden, Gillian Zane, and D.M. Bourgeois – will discuss their new books at7 p.m., Monday, May 20, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

This month's book will be Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All by Allan Gurganus.

Android Phones 101 for Seniors is designed for seniors with limited smartphone experience. Participants will learn smartphone terminology and have hands-on experience with a senior guide (seniors guiding seniors).

The “Read and Sing Storytime” includes stories, songs, and finger plays for infants and toddlers.

Our Children's Storytime introduces the love of books and reading to young children ages 0 to 7 years old. Stories, rhymes, and music are used to encourage children to discover and explore the world around them.
