The New Neighbor Project offers Citizenship Class on Tuesdays at the Rosedale Library, 4036 Jefferson Highway, Jefferson. The classes are free and are geared to prepare eligible permanent residents for the United States naturalization process.

The New Neighbor Project will offer a series of in-person English as a Second Language classes. English as a second or foreign language is a language education program for people learning English.

Two food/cocktail demonstrations at the Jefferson Parish Library – one on each bank of the river – will honor the legacy of the War of 1812. 

John Pope and Susan Langenhenning, co-authors of a new book titled Painting the Town: The Importance of Color in Historic New Orleans Architecture, will discuss it at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan.

The Pontchartrain Astronomy Society was founded in 1959 and currently has a roster of nearly 150 members from South Louisiana and South Mississippi.
